Indian cities are a palimpsest of demography, architecture and governance, now growing exponentially to meet global standards. Bangalore is one such mega city in the south of India hosting a population over 8 million people. Basavanagudi, an affluent neighbourhood in South Bangalore paints a picture from a bygone era different from the cosmopolitan image the city portrays. This portfolio examines imageries of urbanism in a precinct that was planned and developed in the early 2th century under colonial influence though various urban lenses and tools of comparative analysis.
